I'M YOUR SUPERMAN
(Words and Music by Rick Springfield)
Na Na Na Na Na
Na Na Na Na Na
Na Na Na Na Na
Na Na Na Na Na
Na Na Na Na Na
Na Na Na Na Na
Na Na Na Na Na
I'm Your Superman
Oh yes I am
Oh, I may not be as fast as a shot from a gun
And stoppin' locomotives ain't my idea of fun
And though I don't have the magic to fly through the air
I can feel it when you are there
And when you're near me I'm like someone new
I even feel real bulletproof too
Na Na Na Na Na
Na Na Na Na Na
Na Na Na Na Na
Na Na Na Na Na
Na Na Na Na Na
Na Na Na Na Na
Na Na Na Na Na
I'm Your Superman
Oh yes I am
I am not super strong I
have no super sight
I'm not afraid of being in Kryptonite
And though I don't have the magic to fly through the air
I can feel it when you are there
And when you're near me I'm like someone new
I even feel real bulletproof too
Na Na Na Na Na
Na Na Na Na Na
Na Na Na Na Na
Na Na Na Na Na
Na Na Na Na Na
Na Na Na Na Na
Na Na Na Na Na
I'm Your Superman
Oh yes I am
Na Na Na Na Na (repeat several times)
I'm Your Superman
Oh yes I am

I LOVE the piano part at the beginning of this
song. Very cool. Oh yeah, he's head over heals. This song is fun. He has
someone that makes him feel so special he feels he can do anything. Take on the world.
This person gives him so much confidence he feels there is nothing he can't do. You can
feel the excitement. He is kind of saying
he really doesn't think he is anything special, but when he is with this person he becomes
this whole other incredible person. To him this person gives him this "power".
This song makes me think of a funny analogy that some of us have sort of had for Rick
anyway based on how distinctly different he is on stage and off. On stage he is like
"Superman". He is so wild and bold and daring, and then off stage he is like
Rick Kent or Clark Springfield, if you will. Complete with glasses. Shy and quiet and so
low key....
He knows he's just an ordinary man, but when he's around her
(whoever she is, and I always think of her as being a girlfriend), he feels
"super" special.
Na na na na, Na na na na (hey it's a short review that needed some filler, it worked for
him!)
