Rick Springfield Human Touch Video Human Touch - The Video

FAN REVIEWS

Good video. Makes me go "look, Rick and the Solid Gold Dancer's " :o) Of course, back in the day, Solid Gold was the "in" thing. Guess it worked for the time period. I do like the concept of the video as it relates to the song. Once again I thought Rick looked great in the vid. I dug that outfit. Also got a Star Wars vibe from the band being behind the glass, especially with that alien thing that was playing with them. That screamed Star Wars.

You can sign me up for wanting more than anything to be the girl that ended up saving him at the end and getting "sealed in" with him. Now THAT wouldn't have sucked. ;o)

I've always had a thing for this song and this video, for some reason I never liked either one.  I think in the video, I could never get past that shirt/jacket thing.  I just didn't like it for some reason.   Watching it now, Rick looked really, really gooooood.  Why wasn't that enough?  I really like the way this video imitates AOTH in the way he starts out with his eyes closed, then opens them up.

Again, he does a wonderful job of playing the camera.  Then, there's the eyebrow thing.  And of course, the oh so famous dance routine.  To quote Rick "whoa".....It wasn't really all the bad, the very first part where he does the arm thing was pretty good, it was the next part where he has to walk/dance that is slightly awkward.  Oh yeah, and a nice dimple shot along the way.  And finally, there was even synchronized swimming and there wasn't even any water.  I guess the only thing this video was really missing was nudity (j/k)......

I like this video much more now, than I did back then.   I actually long for the day we could anticipate a good video coming out, although, Derek is working on one now, so I guess that's enough.

Wow, his hair looks this good and he dances too?  This is almost too much to bear.  I love this video. I think the concept really worked well with the words.    I love the funky outfit, the hair speaks for itself (this rounds out my top 3 "Rick's Hair Rules videos".... along with Love Somebody and What Kind Of Fool Am I).

I thought it was so darn cute that he tried to dance.  You can just tell he is uncomfortable when he is doing it.  It is 19 years later and I still cannot fathom how "Sharp Dressed Man" won that Friday Night Videos contest when competing against "Human Touch".  I know.... get a life.... let it go.  What can I say....I am loyal.

I absolutely love this video, too. I love all Rick's videos! Whether they make sense or not.  I think Rick looks great as a futuristic space captain. His piercing eyes and the great outfit make him look very foxy!! (ok, an 80's word!!) The jacket he wears and the group dance thing are definitely a Michael Jacksonesque 80's thing. That was in then!

The one weirdo thing is that the computer's name is Sally! LOL Well, ok, I guess someone thought it was a great idea.  And as all space captains must do, Rick saves his crew, but in the end, as always, a woman saves DA Man!! In the end he gets his Human Touch!   Luckily there was enough room in her cubicle for him to fit, too!

The song gets 5 stars and the video 4 stars. Oh, I keep forgetting that I'm not Ebert! LOL
