What did you think the first time you heard the album?

My first thought was that it sounded very 80s-ish.... and I was a little surprised by that.  I also hated the music in some of them *points up to the least favorite list*.  But overall, I was thinking about how glad I was that I had gotten online and found the chatroom on rs.com.....otherwise I'd never have known about this little gem of a CD!

I liked it.  Half the songs I liked a lot, the other half were ok.   I still feel pretty much the same, although really, really listening to some of the lyrics makes me like some of the songs better than I did before.

I thought it was different, seeing Rick perform with another group.  I loved getting to hear him again since its been so long.

I absolutely loved it.

I couldn't believe Rick Springfield said the "f" word.

I was so damn happy to have some new Rick Springfield music.  I could even overlook the other two guys that were there. :-)  I really liked it, but was surprised at the dance music feel to most of the songs.

Rick Springfield and his friends are dirty, dirty boys :-)... Honestly, that's what I thought because I bought it right after I got Karma...Yowsa! Rick took all of his lust from Karma and put it in Sahara Snow...Hehehe.

To be honest, my first impression was that it was too hard for me and I didn't really care for it but I made myself give it a fair chance...and now I really love most of it.

Do you remember buying the album and that experience?

Yeah I do.  Oh, you want details?  I had just joined the fanclub list the same month Sahara Snow came out.  How's that for a happy coincidence?  This CD was my first online purchase.   I was so nervous ordering it for that reason and that it was Rick.   I was wondering if I was gonna like it.  Duh! Actually I think it was more of a "am I still going to be INTO Rick Springfield?" feeling.

After hearing so much hype, I had to order it.  I think most of us got it online, since it was an import.

I ordered it online.

Yes, I found it online and ordered it immediately.

I didn't get it right away.  It took me a while to find out about it, but then I needed it. I found it at the local record store.  I thought it was cool that they had it on the shelf.

Only that I ordered it from NEH records online.

I first heard about this album from doing a search on Amazon, and when Sahara Snow popped up, I didn't think it was really a  new Rick album, maybe it was just something he had a part in.  Not as a lead.    And it was the reason I got a CD player.

What surprises did you receive when listening to this album now?

The only thing that surprised me was finding out Rick didn't write more of these songs on his own.  Somewhere especially comes to mind here... it sounds like something he would write.  Another surprise was when I found out Rick wrote Rovianne.... for some reason I thought Lust was the only song he wrote by himself.

If I listen to it on my computer, I can pick up a lot more of the background sounds.

I didn't receive any surprises except from reading the reviews on this site.  It makes you see the songs differently sometimes.

The fact that I love Lust now and didn't when I first listened to it.  it was my "skipper" song,  but now its a favorite

That I like it more than I thought.  I really should be listening to it more often than I do.

Well..not many surprises now...but when I first heard it, I was amazed at how hard and 'sexual' the songs were....that kind of threw me for a loop...since I had just heard Karma and expected something similar to it.

What are some of your favorite lines?

I should feel wonderful, but I don't feel wonderful

When I breathe I swear that I could draw you in; I'll make love till the sweat's running down my face; But when your legs are shaking you'll know I know just how to serve it up; Dreamed that I'd died and gone to heaven I woke up in your arms; You're just another passion junkie; The words are in my head but they're hard for me to say sometimes alone the power of what I feel can take my breath away; Insipid smile on my face and a dumb remark, I trip slip, slide over the precipice; I should feel wonderful, but I don't feel wonderful; You tell me I look bad, hey what do you mean by that; Cause I am addicted and I can't help myself; I just entered somewhere beautiful I don't belong

but when your legs are shaking, You'll know I know just how to serve it up" Whew!!!!

Rovianne - "I see your body burning on my sheet"  "Here she comes That Mona Lisa smile is on her face With that body and that animal grace I want to go through your armour like a hurricane"

Scandalous Life - "I'm the king of the city of broken hearts"   "I'll make love 'til the sweat's running down my face, yeah"   "But when your legs are shaking... you'll know I know just how to serve it up..Yeah baby"

Heaven - "It hit like a heart attack I feel it in my soul"   "It's built on sacred ground, your image in my head... So I lay my body down on the alter of my bed"

Stranger - "Got to do anything we got to do... Baby look at where we've been... We can build it up...We can tear it down...But we've got to start again"

Somewhere - "The words are in my head... But they're hard for me to say... Sometimes alone the power Of what I feel can take my breath away"

Lust - "I should feel wonderful... But I don't feel wonderful"   "Cause I am addicted and I can't help myself"

Why, the dirty ones of course! ;-).  I really like the images in Rovianne.... "When I breathe, I swear that I could draw you in.  I hide my feelings but the veil is thin... Fall at the touch of your fingers or the smell of your skin."  or  "I want to go through your armour like a hurricane!"

I see your body burning on the sheet

I'll let you in but nobody's gotten out alive yet

Here you come walking with another handsome man, I'm tired of your show baby

I should feel wonderful (speaking)

-'Here she comes...that mona lisa smile on her face...'

-'I should feel wonderful, but I don't feel wonderful..
