Woman/Man
(Rick Springfield)
I wake alone again in the night
And I reach to hold you
There's nothing we can do to put this right
After all we've been through
I tried to release you
It's something I never could control
You're out of my life now
In my soul
You're still my woman
You're still my woman
And I know, it's just how it stands
You're still my woman
Baby believe me through it all
You know what I am
I'm still your man
Baby if you see me out on the street
You want to keep on walking
Yea, you can go ahead, look at your feet
Maybe it's better than talking
I see you with another man
Letting go was hard, you said
I smile like I understand
But in my head
You're still my woman
You're still my woman
And I know, it's out of my hands
You're still my woman
Baby believe me through it all
You know what I am
I'm still your man
I wake alone again in the night
And I reach to hold you
Is there something we can do to put this right
You're still my woman
You're still my woman
God only knows, it's not what I planned
You're still my woman
Baby believe me through it all
You know what I am
I'm still your man
I'm still your man
I'm still your man

This is the ultimate "slow-dance" song....I love it! I can just imagine Rick dancing with someone (me? LOL) to this song. Oh, and raising his fists up like he does ever-so-sexily!! Woman/Man is my favorite song on this LE. It's really a simple song, and what I mean by that is, you can understand clearly every word he is saying and it's just so easy to listen to. Like eating a chocolate candy- you just can't help but want it to keep going on and on and keep the "taste" of it in your head.
I love the line "You're out of my life now, In my soul" - his voice just goes up and he sounds so urgent to make "her" understand what he has to say. I don't think that his voice could have sounded more sexy in this one. It's not hoarse or raspy sounding, it sounds just right! Oh, and just like chocolate, it 'melts' into my heart. |
